MANICURE MUSE: Proenza Schouler Spring ‘13
We can always rely on Jack and Lazaro to push the modern envelope, but leave it to them to design a collection that mirrors the information overload of The Digital Age. For Spring ‘13, Proenza Schouler looks to Tumblr for inspiration by featuring photo prints of random images found on the site. But it was the open patchwork and perforated leather in hi-def colors of electric acid green and red with black and white that stole the show for me. The recolored snakeskin and digital prints incorporated into the color blocking gives the collection a techno-feel. Call me “easy to please,” but somehow the beginning look of a show makes the biggest impact. I just can’t seem to shake how amazing this opening number is.

STREET STYLE: Miroslava Duma in Christopher Kane
My favorite street style shots are the ones that can double as fashion editorial… the kind when you almost catch yourself drooling and green with closet envy. This happens most frequently whenever I see a new street style shot of my girl crush, Miroslava Duma. If you don’t know Miroslava Duma, you should. The uber-chic former Harper’s Bazaar Russia editor is a street style sensation who puts fashion photographers in a tizzy. Here she was spotted outside of Paris Couture Fashion week in this spectacular dropped waist Christopher Kane that reminded me of a summer sunset. With summer coming to a close, I thought it to be only fitting that we honor the end summer and start NYFW with Miroslava/Christopher Kane summer sunset ladyfingers…

MANICURE MUSE: Ajak Deng in Chanel for Obsession Magazine
I stumbled across this editorial from Obsession Magazine and fell in love with the futuristic take on the Fall ’12 collections. Ajak Deng models the likes of Chanel, Balmain, Prada, and Balenciaga with the most fierce techno warrior armor. This Chanel jacket, in particular, really caught my eye with the 3-D geometric panes on such a feminine silhouette. If it’s any indication of where Chanel is heading in the future, then let’s thank our lucky stars.

MANICURE MUSE: Missoni Resort ‘13
Missoni collections never lack excitement. Bold colors and sharp edges are always the focal point — and the Resort line is no different. While the typical zigzag print is at the heart of each look, fun new patterns are thrown into the mix in a seamless fashion. This particular style is flawless as chic bleeds into corporate, symbolizing the transitioning seasons. And there’s no better reason to whip out that trench coat. A fun new take on the traditional suit, the matching top-to-toe ombre makes each part of this ensemble a must-have item.
To emulate this look, I used Manicurist of Seville by OPI, Gia by Zoya, and Floral Street by Nails Inc.
To get these ladyfingers:
1. Paint the top portion of your nail deep red
2. To create the ombre effect, quickly apply red polish grabbing hold of the deep red with the brush painting it down to blend
3. Repeat with white grabbing hold of the red polish
4. Using a toothpick, dab white dots to the red polish
5. Top it off with top coat

MANICURE MUSE: Prabal Gurung AW’12
Following a stellar Spring ‘12 collection,  Prabal goes for round two this year with an equally powerful follow-up for Fall. The moody collection is entitled “Uncursed” and is essentially an elevator from hell to heaven, making a pitstop on Earth along the way. A series of all black looks opened the show with pieced glossy patent leathers mixed with matte fabrics. Next up was a series of vibrant cobalt blues covered in feathers, embellishments and ruffles. The show ended in Prabal heaven with his iconic show-stopping ethereal gowns. One of my favorites from the collection is this mixed gold and white sheath. The pop of black in the belt gives an added edge that translates perfectly into these Prabal Gurung-inspired ladyfingers.
To emulate this look, I used: I Will! by L’Oreal, The “It” Color by OPI, yellow glitter by Barielle Shades, Golden Ticket by Sonia Kashuk and black by Color Club Duo.
To get these ladyfingers:
1. Start with an all white nail
2. Using tape as a guide for the triangle, paint one side of your nail gold
3. Once dry, remove the tape
4. Repeat on the other side using yellow polish
5. Add a layer of gold glitter on top
6. With a black nail art brush, paint a line of black near the top of the white triangle
7. Top it off with Deborah Lippmann’s waterproof top coat “Umbrella”
