MANICURE MUSE: Candice Swanepoel for Vogue Australia
What’s hotter than [Angel] Candice rocking Red, White and Blue in a swimsuit? Not much. Plus it makes for the perfect Memorial Day Weekend Ladyfinger…
Nicole by OPI stopped by yesterday for the ultimate Sunday Funday. Check out the Spring floral design tutorial we did! Love those Ladyfingers.

MANICURE MUSE: Diane von Furstenberg Pre-Fall ‘13

MANICURE MUSE: Christian Dior Spring ‘13
The fashion and beauty industries are incredible in the way that they are always changing. But these days, a trend has a limited time in the spotlight before it’s replaced. In the nail polish world, new innovations are coming out all the time. Crackle polish paved the way for magnetic polish, and now velvet and caviar polishes are having a moment. Instead of letting your crackle polish collect dust in the bottom of your bin, get creative and integrate it into your design. Let’s use this look from Christian Dior’s Spring ’13 collection as inspiration…
MANICURE MUSE: Karlie Kloss in Prada for British Vogue September ‘12
You may recall the Prada post I did a few months back. Well, it’s time for another, because the Fall ’12 collection is just too loud and fabulous to ignore. Plus, when Karlie Kloss is involved… game over. Models rarely get cover page real estate, let alone a September issue– and Karlie scored both (the Olympic gold medal of modeling). In the September issue of British Vogue photographed by Nick Knight, she models the season’s iconic printed dandy suits by A-list designers Miu Miu, Louis Vuitton, and, of course, Prada. For Fall, there’s no such thing as excess, so if you’re going to attempt this look you might as well embrace the ladyfingers with open arms.

MANICURE MUSE: Suno ‘13
I’m a big fan of any designer that can make easy, comfortable pieces look socially acceptable to wear anywhere outside my bedroom. I’m sure I’m not alone on this one, so let’s give a very big round of applause to Suno for creating a Resort ’13 collection that embraces both “casual” and “comfort” as buzzwords. Geometric lines are paired with sweet pink florals, so while the silhouettes are oversized and easy, the prints do the talking. Simply slap on a pair of heels and strut with ease.

MANICURE MUSE: Valentino Resort ‘13
Minutes after the Valentino Resort ‘13 collection posted online, Valentino took over my twitter feed. Not only was the fashion twitter world abuzz about the collection, but my best friend was too. I received frantic incoming texts begging me to do a Valentino-inspired nail design because it was the “most feminine collection she had ever seen.” So Alex, this one’s for you: The Resort collection is a breath-taking change from the brand’s dark black Fall collection. The designers paid homage to the haute 60s. It’s not retro, though. The is a real-world, modern age take on Hollywood glamour. Bursting in candy-colored floral lace, demure silhouettes and perfect party frocks steal the show.
To emulate this look, I used How Romantic by L’Oreal, Ladies in the Limelight from the Kardashian Kollection for Nicole by OPI, Chiffon Chic by Maybelline’s Color Show, and Bikini So Teeny by Essie.
To get these ladyfingers:
1. Start with a nude nail
2. Using a paper towel or sponge and a paper plate, dab lime green in various spots on your nail
3. Repeat with light blue
4. Repeat with light pink
5. Top it off with Seche Vite’s Fast Dry Top Coat
