MANICURE MUSE: Diane von Furstenberg Fall ‘13
According to DVF, “life’s a party!” If you agree, put your Ladyfinger in the air for some disco-dancing with this glam nail art.
MANICURE MUSE: Diane von Furstenberg Pre-Fall ‘13
DVF’s playlist must have gone something like:
1. Moves like Jagger- Maroon 5
2. Black and Yellow- WIz Khalifa
when she designed this Pre-Fall ‘13 collection…
MANICURE MUSE: Diane von Furstenberg Spring ‘13
“Some fairy tales end with the girl marrying the prince… some start there.” And so began the DVF Spring ’13 collection that the designer explained was a reflection of her own personal fairy tale. Wouldn’t it have been a trip to capture the early days of von Furstenberg? Damn the technology that didn’t exist back then. Luckily, our favorite pioneer woman partnered with Google this season to create a glass-less lens glasses called, Glass, that actually capture the wearer’s experience. The collection is vibrant with Furstenberg’s signature Bohemian spirit. There are tons of pretty colors, bold print, and shine and sparkle that will be sure to make any lady feel like a DVF princess.

MANICURE MUSE: Diane von Furstenberg AW’12
Last July I had the opportunity to attend the New York Times event, Times Talk, hosted by Diane von Furstenberg, Prabal Gurung and Norma Kamali [to read more about it click here]. Sitting among fashion leaders was an amazing opportunity, but listening to Diane speak about fashion and business was beyond inspirational.
For Fall ‘12, her collection featured seducing dresses, bold color and a dash of surrealism. Among my favorite looks is this bold-printed comma? apostrophe? overcoat and matching skirt. Needless to say, this lady is my ultimate muse… and you can quote me on that.
To emulate this look, I used Mitzi by Zoya and Vinyl by Orly.
To get these ladyfingers:
1. Paint one nail of your choice lime green and the rest black
2. Using a dotter tool (or a bobby pin), create dots using the opposite color
3. Paint a little tail along the dots using the corresponding color
4. Top it off with top coat

MANICURE MUSE: Diane Von Furstenberg, Fall ‘11 Runway
Translating runway to your nails doesn’t necessarily need a steady hand (damn you Prada stripes). All you need is some spot-on color picks. Feeling inspired by this Diane von Furstenberg fall look, I chose Ginger+Liz’s “Got My Groove back” ($12 from gingerandliz.com) and American Apparel’s always trusty “Office” ($6 from americanapparel.net).
